Piopolis

This parish was founded in 1871 on the west bank of Lake Megantic by
Papal Zouaves who had been given land or concessions by the papacy as a reward for loyalty. Since then, Piopolis Bay has offered locals and vacationers alike a splendid view of the mountains, a
marina, and a friendly campground. The Grenier Range Road and the Des Pionniers Road offer breathtaking views. During the summer,
first-rate classical concerts are held at the church. A six-point historic heritage tour was created, highlighting the unique history of this community, along with a network of walking trails through the forests and along the river in the village.
